New Species Vegetable Oil Launch

"Cameroon Tribune" reported on September 1, last Thursday, Cameroon Cotton Development Company (SODECOTON) held a news conference in Yaounde. General manager of the company announced that there will be a new species of vegetable oil launch on the market. The name of vegetable oil as Diamaor Plus, is from mixed extraction of cotton seed and palm kernel seed after refining, non-cholesterol, especially suitable for cooking fried food and used for seasoning. The sales manager of SODECOTON, representative from Cameroon Ministry of Commerce and professionals committed to protect lefts and interests of consumer attended the conference.
New species vegetable oil launch is in order to fill the shortage of huge market demand for edible oil in Cameroon. The processing base is built in Garoua city, aims to meet the demand of edible oil in market before January, 2009. Because there will be new cotton seed shipped to Cameroon. As for if there will be extraction of Diamaor Plus oil after January, SODECOTON company said that is uncertain now, depending on the degree of market acceptance of the new species. If the market reflection is good, it is possible to output from 18 million liters to 25 million liters.
The sale price of Diamaor Plus oil is 1100 (African Currency) per litre, but the actual market price per litre is about 1300 to 1500 due to market shortage, speculation and other factors.
As an important raw material for vegetable oil processing, palm kernel seed is widely used for cooking and food industries. Compared to other edible oil, palm oil nutrition is easy to absorb for health promotion.
Malaysia and Indonesia is the world's leading palm oil production countries, which the output is more than 80 percent in the world. In Africa, there is also palm plantation with big output of palm kernel seed. Government promoted the palm plantation to get rich.
Vegetable oil processing is mainly processed by screw palm oil expeller. The GM palm oil expeller is suitable for extraction of raw palm oil material after heating and mashing. GM palm kernel seed oil expeller can be also applied in other vegetable oil extraction, which can process canola, coconut jatropha oil etc.
