Time to Buy Yourself a Dryer for Wood Pellet Presses
There are many processes in a wood pelletizing or biomass briquetting line, a necessary one of which is the drying process. As is known to us, the raw materials still maintain quite high moisture content, around 60%, after crushed, though the size basically met the requirements of pelletizing/briquetting. Such high moisture certainly cannot be put directly into the wood pellet presses or biomass briquette machines, because the pellets made out in such a way would not reach the ideal state. At this time, a dryer will be useful.
Whether it is biomass briquettes or wood pellets that you are about to produce, the dryer plays an important role in the technological process. There are generally two types of dryers for the two different applications mentioned above – the dryers for biomass briquette machines and the rotary drum dryers for wood pellet presses.
First of all, let’s see the dryers for biomass briquette machines. Its working principle is very easy to understand. The stove starts to generate hot wind after damp sawdust is put into the hopper. Then, the wet material is sucked into the pipes by the exhaust blower, and zigzagged along the tortuous pipeline and passes by a buffer (drying chamber) of dryer. Thus the material becomes dried. Finally, the sawdust passes the cyclone and then is discharged from the outlet with airlock.
The rotary drum dryers substantially use the similar working principles except for the different appearances and application areas. The wet material is put into the rotary drum dryers from one end. With the machine operating, the material is turned over through stirring-up rake in the cylinder and evenly distributed on the bottom. During the process, the evenly spread material contact sufficiently with the hot air inside, so the material becomes dry and discharged from the star valve.
Both the two types of dryers above are able to precisely set the air temperature with outstanding thermostatic control mechanism, to ensure qualified moisture. Compared with dryers for biomass briquette machines, the rotary drum dryers for wood pellet presses have more choices on fuel for heating, since rotary drum ones can use other fuel such as gas or oil.
If you are considering buying a dryer, whether biomass briquette machines or wood pellet presses, GEMCO dryers will be your best choice with no doubt.
