Development and Prospects of Roll Forming Product

Roll forming technology has been developing rapidly in the last decade, the roll forming products based on this technology are featured with material-saving, low energy consumption and high efficiency. These products can be used directly or after special processed, they are broadly used in building structures, manufacturing of cars and ships, electronic industry and machinery industry.

The development of roll forming technology can be divided into 2 levels: crudely processed and deep processed. It was firstly developed based on the experience in the factory production, so the theory research was not much, and all products have to be further processed before put into use. In the 80s, with the need for roll forming products were more specialized, more researches were done and the theory is very well developed. The roll forming line with flexible system can reduce the roll changing frequency and time, thus the processes were simplified and efficiency was improved.
